Erica Padilla | Director Of Education

Appointed Sigma Cuts Director of Education in May 2017. Erica is an Arizona native who was raised in Northern Arizona White Mountains; where she graduated from Saint John’s High School in 2001 and received her cosmetology license in 2008 from Northland Pioneer College. Since then Erica has also earned her Associate of Arts as well as her Cosmetology Instructor’s License in 2017.  Currently overseeing all locations and instructing at the Glendale, AZ location.

She prides herself on family, her American Indian and Hispanic culture, hard work and giving back. She is continuing her education to earn her Bachelors of Science and this is why she supports the incredible opportunity that Sigma Cuts offers for a free education. Helping those in our community and giving back is a wonderful feeling.

D. J. Gaughan is a licensed psychologist and forensic psychologist. He earned his masters and Ph.D. at the University of Kansas, graduating with a degree in Psychology from the Department of Human Development and Family Life. His clients include children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. After working for Arizona Children’s Hospital, the Department of Corrections, and the Department of Juvenile Corrections in supervisory positions, he entered private practice.

In addition to providing therapeutic services, Dr. Gaughan has developed expertise as a forensic psychologist, providing a wide array of services relating to legal matters in Family Court, Criminal Court, and Civil Litigation.

D. J. has extensive experience working with families in transition through divorce and in working with couples and families teaching non-defensive communication. He is a Collaborative Law Practitioner helping couples and children navigate through the challenges that occur during divorce.

Highly skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Dr. Gaughan has worked with veterans, accident victims, and persons who have been subjected to physical, emotional, and sexual trauma.

J. Dean Dabbah, M.D., M.S.

After finishing his undergraduate studies at Arizona State University, Dr. Dabbah returned to his home state of Illinois for graduate school. Dr. Dabbah graduated at the top of his class from Chicago Medical School, earning a master’s degree in biomedical science and a doctor of medicine degree. He then served his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Dabbah is well-known for his caring bedside manner. His passion for patient care was genuinely established when he volunteered to work overseas with Operation Smile. Dr. Dabbah continues to work with Doctors Without Borders as often as possible.

As a rehabilitation specialist at Advanced Back and Neck Care, Dr. Dabbah designs custom treatment plans for patients with acute injuries or long-term chronic pain conditions. He welcomes new patients to his office and offers flexible scheduling


Marissa Moriss | Owner Educator

Marissa Morris has been a licensed cosmetologist in Arizona for 20+ years.  Marissa recently received her license to be an educator with Sigma Cuts School of Beauty in Glendale, AZ and will be the sole educator over her location in Sierra Visa, AZ.


Carmel D. Honeycutt | Educator California District

Carmel Honeycutt is a licensed Cosmetologist of 32yrs.  Brian and raised in San Diego, Ca. She has been salon owner, platform artist, educator state board examiner and adjunct professor.  Her education and skill set allowed her to participate in many Hair shows, competitions and plate form artistry with an up and coming product line Barry Fletcher.
With a desire of continuous learning, Carmel went back to school to attain her BA in Vocational Education from SDSU, MA in Career Technology Education from Ball State & MS in Social Work; soon to pursue her doctorate in Global Leadership.  Carmel also believes in giving back to her community- she regularly participated in the Polynski Project. This project provides haircare services to young girls who seek home placement. It’s an annual event in San Diego where hairstylist volunteer their time and skills to teach and beautify the young ladies. The goal is to encourage and help the young ladies know their self-worth. 
My aspirations for the future is to continue to educate students and help them to achieve their goals in the beauty industry.


William Taylor earned his Master of Architecture degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art and his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Before founding LAIAD in 2001, William has taught architectural design since 1983, with positions at Harvard University, the University of Houston, and at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he developed an innovative new program for basic architectural design. William is also a founding principal of StreetStudio.LA and is involved with a variety of local and international projects.

William has persistently explored the relationship between form and idea and his work at LAIAD is an outgrowth of a 30-year effort, in both teaching and practice, to develop and promote a design methodology based on idea and order rather than visual composition. In recognition of his work at LAIAD, William was recognized with the AIA Los Angeles Educator of the Year award in 2005. His design work has been featured in magazines such as L’Arca, Arkkitehti, and A+U and been included in international exhibitions including the Venice Biennale, the Milan Triennale, the Centre Pompidou, and the Museum of Finnish Architecture, where it is part of the permanent collection.
